Facility Rentals

The Medical Wellness Center currently offers University departments as well as non-University affiliated group groups rental privileges of the instructional classrooms A, B, and C.  Because the Medical Wellness Center is not a conference center, the decision as to whether to not events will be hosted in the Center, is solely left to the discretion of upper management.  All parties, interested in utilizing Wellness Center facilities, must abide by the policies outlined in links below.

General Policies:

  1. If the event includes any type of physical activity, the participants must sign a general waiver of liability form. 
  2. Renter will be responsible for any repair costs due to damages incurred during their event.
  3. If your event requires floor covering, a work order must be completed submitted to Juan Parrilla in Receiving & Moving.  Before submitting, please send a copy to Carl-Phillipe Joseph for approval.
  4. These rates assume that all clean-up and set-up occurs within the allotted time and that clean-up is satisfactory to the Medical Wellness Center.  If any additional labor is required for clean-up an hourly rate to cover the cost will be added to this invoice.
  5. Any outside "for profit" party must pay 7% sales tax in addition to their total fee for reservation.
  6. We will not provide any technical support or additional assistance once the event has begun.
  7. Coordination of all equipment (delivery and removal) is your responsibility as we have no storage space for these items.
  8. We require that you have an event coordinator on-site prior to, during, and after the event to direct caterers, vendors, equipment suppliers, etc.  Please arrive early, as you are responsible for arranging tables/chairs/etc.
Payment:

For Department and Student Organization Rentals:

  • Please fax a copy of the Inter Departmental Requisition and mail the original to Kellen Horney. The final amount is due no more than 48 hours prior to the day of the event

For Outside Organizations:

  • Make check payable to the University of Miami. A 25% deposit must be received at least 3 weeks prior to the event.
Cancellation Policy:
  • 20% of the total fee for reservation will be charged if the reservation is cancelled more than 30 days prior to the event.
  • 50% of the total reservation will be charged if the reservation is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the event.

Parking- Parking in the 14th Street Garage is available at $1 per ½ hour with an $8/day maximum.  You may purchase parking validation for your participants at prevailing rates from the parking office.  Please be aware that large groups of 50 or more could cause the garage to over-fill on week days during normal business hours.  You may contact the Parking Office at 243-6280x3 for more information.
