UBike Program

To encourage faculty, staff and students to leave their cars at home and commute to the Medical Campus by bicycle, the UHealth Fitness & Wellness Center has joined the University’s UBike program. UBike participants will receive free access to the locker room at the Fitness & Wellness Center, located on the ninth floor of the Clinical Research Building, with access to complimentary towel service.

The program is modeled after the Coral Gables campus UBike program at the Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center. Students, faculty and staff who want to participate should fill out the application and bring it to the UHealth Fitness & Wellness Center.

Norm Parsons, Former Director of the UHealth Fitness & Wellness Center and the Herbert Wellness Center, said, “The UBike program at the UHealth Fitness & Wellness Center supports the University’s effort to promote health and well-being while positively impacting the environment. All biking employees and students who have yet to join the center are encouraged to take advantage of the program.”

“Of course we hope that people in the UBike program will want to join the Fitness & Wellness Center once they see its terrific amenities!”
Whenever you ride, remember these important bike safety tips:

  • Inspect your bike
  • Ride on the right side of the sidewalk and road
  • Obey all traffic laws
  • Look and signal before turning
  • Ride with the flow of traffic — not against it
  • Wear reflective clothing and use a light when riding at night
